Federal Labor Member for Fremantle, Josh Wilson MP, today invited not-for-profit and local government agencies across the federal electorate of Fremantle to submit an expression of interest (EOI) for Stronger Communities Programme (SCP) Round 5 funding.
Matched funding of between $2,500 and $20,000 may be sought on a dollar-for-dollar basis for eligible small capital works that are aimed at increasing community participation. Grant funding must amount to 50 per cent or less of the project’s value, but the community group contribution can be ‘in kind’.
“Four previous rounds of this grant have delivered almost $600,000 for 44 projects across the electorate — including the provision of equipment for men’s sheds, youth and sporting clubs, and a variety of upgrades to a wide range of community facilities,” said Mr Wilson.

“I have convened a community consultation panel which will make a preliminary assessment of proposals before inviting formal applications to the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science where the funding decisions will be made.”
Coordinated by MPs, the Stronger Communities Programme provides each of the nation’s 150 federal electorates with up to $150,000 for up to 20 capital projects.
