Remembrance Day Statement

Friday, 11 November 2016 16:45

Remembrance Day is a time to remember and reflect on all of those men and women who have served and sacrificed their lives for our country.

Every town in Australia has its own story and its own personal connection to the terrible conflicts of war, and today we honour and renew that personal connection.

Finding work for Fremantle jobseekers

Friday, 16 September 2016 14:15

On the campaign trail it was notable just how many people talked to me about jobs lost, contracts coming to an end and not being renewed, and when there was work on offer the fact that it was in similar roles for a lot less money.

The Turnbull Government’s own secret hit list has revealed that more than a quarter of families receiving child care payments in the Federal electorate of Fremantle will be worse off under the Liberal’s new child care package.

Nothing can really prepare you for the first time you stand up to speak in the House of Representatives; it’s a special moment, and I was glad to acknowledge my family and the wider Freo community that has shaped me as person.

People in Fremantle are struggling to afford basic health care, with Malcolm Turnbull’s Medicare freeze driving out-of-pocket costs up and forcing thousands of locals to skip care.
