    The country that played a key role in developing wi-fi technology, and with a past record of early and rapid adoption of digital communication, should not find itself ranked second last in the OECD when it comes to the relative size of our tech sector.

    Yesterday’s report that a breakthrough plastic recycling technology developed by Australian researchers will shift overseas, costing Australian jobs, is a further indication that the Morrison government is too late and too slow in responding to Australia’s waste crisis.

 
  • Josh Wilson is the 11th Federal Member for Fremantle. He was appointed as Shadow Assistant Minister for the Environment in May 2019.

    Josh grew up in Freo and for more than a decade has made a significant contribution through public and community service.

    Prior to entering parliament Josh was a Councillor and then Deputy Mayor of the City of Fremantle (2009-16), where he led work on economic development and revitalisation, initiated the ‘Fremantle Forever’ campaign against local government amalgamations, and introduced a successful Indigenous employment target. He was previously the Chief of Staff to Hon. Melissa Parke, including the period in which Ms Parke was the Minister for International Development.
